My name is Bri'Anna M. Collins and I am currently a high school student in Augusta, Georgia. I've created this blog for three  main reasons: 1.) to spread awareness about feminism,  2.) to promote the feminist movement, and 3.) to debunk common misconceptions concerning feminism. However, while this blog was created primarily for the three aforementioned reasons it can and will operate as a safe place for individuals who wish to help vocalize and advance the movement.

Every day this blog will be updated with news and literary works that concern the current and past progressions of the feminist movement. In addition to this, posts regarding information that will attempt to expand one's  knowledge and perspective on feminism will be added each day. This is due to to the unfortunate fact that, more often than not, anti-feminist sentiments are rooted in misinformation and an overwhelming misrepresentation of feminism in both the media and society. With the resources provided on this blog, I hope to at least enlighten those who have been unjustly misled and change their perspective. For those who already back the movement, I hope this can become a tool and opportunity for you to spread social awareness in your communities. At the end of the day, I hope that those of you who have visited this blog find it useful. I hope that you're able to utilize it in your life and help others utilize it as well.

 

Feminism takes on a variety of definitions but, ultimately, it is the notion that women regardless of socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation should be treated equally throughout all aspects of society. At its core, feminism is a movement and behind every social movement or advancement, are the collective voices of those who have supported and gunned for the integration of those social perspectives. So I urge you to educate one another, spread awareness, and become one of those voices.
